Enable Windows Media Player to Play FLash Video Files

Flash Video (FLV) is a file format that delivers video over the internet. It is widely used in video sharing or hosting sites, like You Tube, Goggle Video and more.

When viewing FLV video online an Adobe Flash Player plug-in is used to play the video. When you try to open and view a saved FLV video from your drive you will need to use a third-party program like Quicktime, Windows Media player does not have native built-n support to play the video,

If you would like to play the FLV video files using Windows Media Player instead of a third party player simply download PlayFLV.exe and install.

PlayFlv will prompt you to install ffdshow which has the codec to play the files and it will associate all the FLV files to Windows Media Player. Both programs are free and open source and very lightweight plugins.
